This is a reference page. It has no upload step, no drop zone and produces no files: it sets out Shopee’s published image rules. The product-image-fill-ratio-checker is the page on this site that measures and re-frames a file.
What it sets out is what Shopee publishes about the 1:1 and 3:4 product image sets, with the official page, the sentence we read on it and the date we checked it on every line of the table above. Two of the three sources are dated Seller Education Hub articles for Shopee Singapore. The third, the Shopee Mall Listing Guidelines PDF, carries no date, no version number and no market label, so it is kept separate from them, every row taken from it is tagged Shopee Mall PDF, and we claim no market for it. The page also names the Shopee figures that circulate second-hand and are on none of those pages.
The two dated Seller Education Hub articles
Two articles on Shopee Singapore's Seller Education Hub carry dates and are written for Shopee Singapore listings generally.
- Article 17318, dated 2023-01-11 makes the 1:1 display ratio mandatory for all listings, makes the 1:1 set the prerequisite for the 3:4 set, and says a 3:4 upload is cropped and optimised automatically to that display ratio. Shopee's own uploader lets you adjust the crop area, zoom, rotate and flip.
- Article 2449, dated 2024-04-15 gives the ceiling of nine images per product SKU, cover image included, and allows further images for variations such as colours and sizes.
Neither article gives a pixel width or height, so neither does this page.

The Shopee Mall Listing Guidelines PDF: scope, date, market and how we label its rules
The Shopee Mall Listing Guidelines are a PDF, and two things about it are worth stating plainly once: it is written for Shopee Mall listings, and it carries no date, while the two Seller Education Hub articles on this page do. That is why the rows taken from it are tagged Shopee Mall PDF in the table above, and why the two dated articles are kept separate from it. Our source research files all three sources under Shopee Singapore; we have not independently established which markets the PDF covers, so if you sell in another market confirm these rows in your own Seller Centre.
The document words most of its image rules as musts and prohibitions, and the classification we treat as our source of truth files those clauses as hard requirements. Those rows read required: the share of the cover frame the product for sale must cover, the ban on watermarks, montage, borders, text and other graphics on the cover, the logo at the top-left corner within its size cap, the ban on a model in the cover image outside the Fashion, Health and beauty and Sports and outdoor categories, and the floor of three non-duplicate, professionally taken images per listing. The ceiling of nine images per SKU is not among them: the Seller Education Hub article words it permissively, so that row reads stated.
One line is worded softly, and it reads recommended rather than required: the product and props should fill half or more of a non-cover image, against must for the cover. We keep stated for a value an official page gives without any label of its own; should is a soft label, so this line is carried as a recommendation and not as a pass/fail threshold. The cover background is the mixed case, and we do split it into two rows. Its sentence words the solid background as a must, so that row reads required on the strength of the document's own wording, and words the colour as a preference, white preferably, which the classification we treat as our source of truth files as a recommended value, so that row reads recommended. Badging the pair as one row would either overstate the colour or understate the solidity. The same document is also less strict about non-cover images than about the cover, allowing cropping, close-ups and models there. We did not capture a verbatim sentence for the no-crop line or for the non-cover allowances, so both stay paraphrases and neither is quoted.

Shopee crops the 3:4 set for you — check the crop before you publish
If you switch the 3:4 set on for a Shopee Mall listing, Shopee does the cropping and you are the one who checks the result.
- Article 17318, dated 2023-01-11 says of a 3:4 upload: Your images will be automatically cropped and optimised to fit the 3:4 display ratio. Shopee's own uploader does the cropping, and it lets you adjust the crop area, zoom, rotate and flip.
- The Shopee Mall Listing Guidelines list, among their image requirements, that the product must be shown complete in the frame and not cropped; the same document separately allows cropping and close-ups on non-cover images, which is why we read the no-crop line as bearing on the cover. We did not capture a verbatim sentence for either line of the undated PDF, so both stay paraphrases here and neither is quoted — the PDF itself is linked from every Shopee Mall row of the table above and from the source list at the foot of this page, and it carries no market label.
What it means before you publish: Shopee crops 3:4 uploads for you, so check the crop on a Shopee Mall cover image, because the Mall guidelines ask for the product complete in the frame. Adjust the crop area in Shopee's own uploader, or keep the cover image as the 1:1 file. This page does not open, check or change your files.
We have not found any official Shopee statement setting these two lines against each other, so we do not present this as a disagreement between official pages — the narrowing of the no-crop line to the cover image is our reading of the document, not its own wording.

Shopee figures that are not on any official page we checked
Three kinds of Shopee figures circulate in second-hand summaries and are on none of the three official sources above. In this section we name the gaps rather than the figures; the only figures we print are in the block below, each labelled as a number that is not an official Shopee spec: a circulating file-size cap, and the exact-white value RGB 255,255,255.
The three sources are quoted below with a sentence each of them does state about images. Those quotes are there so you can see what we read on each page; none of them gives a pixel size, a file-size cap or a list of formats, because no sentence on any of the three does.
- A pixel size for the 1:1 or 3:4 set. Article 17318 specifies display ratios only; no width, height, minimum or maximum appears on it or on the other two sources.
- A file-size cap. None of the three sources states one at all.
- A list of accepted file formats. None of the three sources publishes one.
We also found no Shopee statement about bit depth, colour mode or colour space. That is not the same as Shopee having no rule: the pages we read do not address it, so we claim nothing in either direction. Because Shopee publishes no pixel size to scale to, this page offers no canvas step of its own; the product-image-fill-ratio-checker trims the surrounding background and pads it back out to a square (1:1) canvas without scaling the photo, so nothing is cut off the product; padding lands the result at or just under the target share, and the page tells you the share it could reach when the target cannot be reached.
